Objectives: To develop and evaluate the usability of a mobile application for clinical consultation in sexually transmitted infections. Methods: Methodological study for the development and evaluation of the usability of an mHealth technology. The application followed the five phases of software engineering and used Javascript language. Usability was assessed using the System Usability Scale by nurses and physicians from the Family Health Strategy, Paraíba State, Brazil, between September 2020 and July 2022. Results: The app works offline, operates on the Android system, and has four main screens: menu, patient data, diagnoses, and interventions. In the usability evaluation, it obtained a lower score of 77.5, an average of 92.5, a higher score of 100 and a final score of 91.92, indicating high satisfaction of the professionals. Conclusion: The ISTpro app demonstrated high intelligibility, apprehensibility, operability and attractiveness standing out as an auxiliary tool in the clinical approach of people with STIs. The use of the application can contribute to promoting a safer and more efficient approach to care.
