Methods: A qualitative study with Bardin's content analysis was conducted with 15 participants (patients and family members) from a nephrology service in Rio de Janeiro, using interviews collected between November 2023 and January 2024. Results: Most participants were married (66.67%), Catholic (53.33%), with education up to primary level (60%), and from socioeconomic class E (66.67%). Key needs identified included clear information, emotional support, effective communication, dietary guidance, and quick emergency support, with faith being crucial in treatment. Conclusion: The study concludes that mHealth apps play a significant role in the lives of patients with chronic kidney disease and their families, facilitating communication and access to healthcare.
